I've always said: Ideas have a shelf life, use them before they expire.
That's been my way of acting when the inspiration is fresh and the motivation is there. There's also a lot of power in staying with an idea long term, nurturing it, maintaining it, making it better over time.
Ideas need their specific time and place. If either of those are missing, getting them seen, used, evaluated, or appreciated is hard, but not quite impossible. If both are missing, the odds against that idea are insurmountable.
Sometimes reifying an idea requires building its place, + hoping for luck on the time.
