I expanded on my own tweet…
Ideas are nothing without
getting them seen
the ability to ship
people using them
Ideas get better when
show we care
add va-va-voom to them
there is love and appreciation for them
we listen to feedback
evolve with the market
we trust our conviction
Ideas live longer when
we build a flywheel
pace ourselves
have sustainability built-in
stay lean
we love the journey
Ideas die when
we overcomplicate
lose our motivation
forget our why
fall out of love
What would you add to this list?
Ideas are nothing without...
I've always said: Ideas have a shelf life, use them before they expire.
That's been my way of acting when the inspiration is fresh and the motivation is there. There's also a lot of power in staying with an idea long term, nurturing it, maintaining it, making it better over time.
Ideas need their specific time and place. If either of those are missing, getting them seen, used, evaluated, or appreciated is hard, but not quite impossible. If both are missing, the odds against that idea are insurmountable.
Sometimes reifying an idea requires building its place, + hoping for luck on the time.
